What is Ergonomics... and why is it important?
The term "ergonomics" is derived from the Greek words ergon, meaning work, and nomos, meaning law or rule. Ergonomics is the science of adapting the job to the person. Ergonomics involves all aspects of how individuals interact with their work area.
By recognizing, reducing, and eliminating risk factors, employees can work without the potential for repetitive motion injuries, thus increasing job satisfaction and productivity.
